Whether you are trying to lose weight or simply start eating better vitamins, nutrients and calories are things you should be paying attention to. We all learned about the food pyramid at one time, but this is a quick reminder of what a healthy diet looks like. Pay attention to the daily servings. I can tell you that this is not what my diet looks like. Not even close, but we all need to start somewhere.

  1. Who could forget the food pyramid that was instilled in our brain all throughout school in health class. Well the appropriate answer would probably be everyone. We all know the general rule of thumb about what we are 'suppose' to eat on a daily basis, but how many of us actually eat a well balanced diet? I would guess not many. This is a great reminder. I am trying to eat healthier, exercise more, and cut down on junk food, but even then I know I don't reach the balanced diet that is displayed in the picture above. Looking forward to learn more about eating the right way.

  2. I feel like the food pyramid varies slightly every few years. I see that fruits and vegetables are on the bottom with the biggest section. That's good news because I actually eat a lot of fruits and vegetables although probably not enough still. I don't believe I get enough protein throughout the week and that's something I'm working on. It's hard to eat healthy because the food is typically more expensive and it usually takes longer to prepare and cook. I would like to expand my grocery list because I find myself getting the same items each time I go to the store. I look forward to seeing interesting recipes on your blog!
